I went there in July of 2026 and was denied housing then when I came back during office hours they gave me an appointment a week out. Where was I supposed to live for a week? The services in Salt Lake City Ut are way better.

*Safety warning for women considering this shelter* I stayed at this shelter in 11/2025. During my stay, I experienced a serious incident that I feel other women should be aware of. I believe I was targeted and drugged during the day. At night, while I was unconscious, I was sexually assaulted. When I raised concerns afterward, I felt I was not taken seriously and staff responded defensive. They claim to have cameras, but the staff has control over those cameras, so they could be involved. This experience has been extremely traumatic, and I am sharing this so other women can make informed decisions and take precautions. If you are considering staying here, please prioritize your safety, stay aware of your surroundings, and ensure you have outside support. I did not report the incident at the time because I felt unsafe due to prior experiences with law enforcement in Utah and was concerned the situation might be linked, which discouraged me from coming forward.

When you visit somewhere to find out information on safe places and are met out in the parking lot with an employee not in uniform at your car window looking like some random dude off the streets trying to get you to open your door with what appears to be a weapon or somthing dangerous probably medication related in hand i get the ideah this place is not somthing i want in my community to think i tried to get support in Washington county to basically figure out this place is hell no safe places open 24/7 like in other places i have lived and the worst part i wasn't even allowed in the one place i got sent to that was open they chased me off property like i was going to light the place on fire i even called to talk to them and felt like i was met with force this place is ridiculous afterwards dude made aphone call like i just broke the law.

I never in my life imagined that I , would reside in a homeless shelter ‼️🤪At first I was embarrassed AND TO ME, it was the epitome of humiliation…. I was a victim of domestic violence( this is hard to admit) but Switchpoint staff( Taylor, Shiloh, Mariah ( it is actually Mireya 😉) Jason, Nick, George, Michael, Colton, Lila, Tish,Eric, Kaleb,Canela, Sarah and ESPECIALLY MY CASE MGR. Kaden Coil, were the most amazing people on planet 🌍 earth ‼️‼️I would not have successfully exited without the patience, assistance, and guidance from every single individual…. I’m grateful to God for every SINGLE ONE OF YOU‼️Thank you sounds sooooo lame but my gratitude will always be immense and complete and I will NEVER EVER forget all the help from each one of YOU ‼️‼️I. Got. My. Life. Back‼️ Why I ended up at Switchpoint is truly irrelevant, but I was freaking out of my ever loving mind with fear of the absolute unknown and then horrified at where I was on top of the catalyst that brought me to …. O M G…. A homeless shelter‼️I transformed in the end I was proud of where I was, the opportunities are given to everyone but let me be honest IT is HARD HARD work 😓 and I lifted myself out of hell, And

Shelter has amazing resources and a lot of funding. The food is pretty solid and there’s always enough for everyone. The rooms are comfortable and clean. And they’re building an entirely new facility that seems even nicer than the current one. This would be an easy 5 stars if it weren’t for the staff. The staff, on paper, are qualified to do their jobs, but they lack any form of perspective at all. And when you’re working with homeless people, that’s a very important thing to have. So rather than relating to people who are struggling, they look down on them because of it. Switchpoint staff treat their jobs less like an opportunity to help the less fortunate, and more as an opportunity to beat down people who are already struggling. So I’d say if you’re homeless and you can deal with the toxicity from staff without letting it get to you too much, this is a good place to be, otherwise you’re better off going somewhere else. The Cedar shelter has recovering addicts among their staff, people who know what it’s like to actually struggle, not just a bunch of kids right out of college who think they know everything about how the world works.

Awesome 👍 today under the shaded Grape Vines Arboretum..the mentor fixed water pipes to supply timing dprinkerd fir new beds of berries and greens to be used daily in the Cafeteria's kitchen. The Apricots are taking shape from blossom to green fruit. The surrounding Earth enbankments were trucked in by local community militia National guard during service Projects...wow, it's all turning out more productive and beautiful each week when families or business teams sign up on line to learn from Dr. Dirt how to plant it water or thin the weeds or prune, pick or harvest and walk it over to the Switchpoint Kitchen. Switchpoint Just Broke Ground on 55 unit Housing for safe quality low income. I am honored to give time and consistency to Switch point. K.J. Richardson
